Driving in Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s transportation system is so convenient that many do not feel the need to own a car. Owning a car comes with its fair share of hassles, such as expensive gas prices, high maintenance fees, and inconvenient and pricey parking. That being said, driving a car portrays a certain status and can generally save time that is wasted waiting on public transportation.
For Hong Kong expats who choose to be car owners, it is important to understand the process of obtaining a driving license, fees, requirements of owning a car, and, for those bringing a car from abroad, the proper procedure for importing a car.
